The Millpond is a 2 acre lake, next to a golf course and surrounded by trees, a green and verdant space set in an urban environment. The lake is leased from the London Borough of Ealing and we have sole rights as we stock and maintain the fishery. Access is from the locked gate on the Greenford Road and there is a ramp that provides easy access to the bank where there are ten swims suitable for disabled members. The fishery is patrolled by our bailiffs day and night and has 24hr CCTV. The lake is stocked with Carp, Tench, Bream with lots of good Roach, Rudd and Perch.
Bird Sanctuary and Nature Reserve
An important part of the lake is that it is part of the Brent River Park, which as a whole is designated as a Nature Conservation Management Area (NCMA). Members are expected to respect the rules and be active in maintaining its special status. Kingfishers and Woodpeckers are regularly seen and flocks of Ring Necked Parakeets add a tropical atmosphere to the lake. Several pairs of Mandarin ducks breed each year and the spectacle of the exotic male, with it’s weird whistle rather than a quack, perching in the trees is a wonderful sight. There are many species of dragonfly in the summer and three species of bats fly after dark.
